In Bloom #37 + Bracken's Brown Beauty Magnolia

Being from Mississippi, I have always loved magnolias since they are the official state flower.  This magnolia blossom was taken this past summer (South Carolina).

The underneath of the leaves are a velvety brown.  In fact, this magnolia grandiflora is the Bracken's Brown Beauty, patented right here in Easley by Ray Bracken.

Happy Sunday,

  3. My grandmother had a magnolia tree outside the 2nd story window of her apartment building. It was beautiful. Thank you for that sweet reminder of her.

  5. The purity of the white petals is marvelous. I think the blooms fall away too quickly. But they're gorgeous while they last!
