Curated Quilts issues a mini challenge with each issue based on a theme and and a given color palette. For Issue 2 the theme was log cabins. You should know by now I can't resist a challenge and you may remember this mini log cabin quilt, Off the Grid, I made back in September 2017.
I was excited when Off the Grid was chosen to be included in the mini quilt gallery for Issue 2.
I even met Amy while at QuiltCon in Pasadena, CA. Behind us are the minis for the Minimalism challenge featured in Issue 3.
When your quilt is featured in Curated Quilts, you are generously provided copy of that issue. I am already a subscriber, so that means I have an extra copy of Curated Quilts Issue 2.
GIVEAWAY
To celebrate my return from Tax Land since April 15th, well this year, April 17th is finally over, I am giving away a copy of Curated Quilts Issue 2. Due to shipping costs, I am limiting this giveaway to US addresses only. And, if you do not live in the US, but have a friend who does, I will be happy to ship to their address in the US.

And, now, I finally have time to enjoy Issue 3 that I just received!
I love challenges - hope to win one someday but it really is a fun way to stretch my creativity. Congrats on yours making the magazine!
ReplyDeleteI love a good challenge, and participate in almost all the ones that my guild sponsors. The only one that I've done nationally is the Hoffman Challenge. Congrats on seeing your quilt in print!
ReplyDeleteI've done challenges in the past that motivated me to do something I had never done before, that is my favorite kind. Maybe try a new technique, maybe think outside the box, etc. The ones I've done have mostly been just for fun, rather than for a competition. Your quilt is gorgeous, you do such fabulous work!
ReplyDeleteI belong to a small quilt group. We’ve got our normal monthly challenge going along with a bimonthly 12 by 12 challenge. Each month we have a challenge which can range from color, theme, block, art, etc. The 12 by 12 is an individual challenge. Each person comes up with a theme and everyone has two months to come up with a 12x12 block for that person. We decide whose turn it is by drawing numbers.
ReplyDeleteI love challenges, they make me step out of my limits.
ReplyDeleteA challenge spurs me on to meet a deadline, and this is another wonderful giveaway. Well done to have your quilt published, this is wonderful to be included. Down south of the Equator leaves me out of the draw, but I am sure that whoever wins this will be so thrilled.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on earning a spot in issue 2! Off The Grid is definitely worthy of a photo spread! I get excited about quilt challenges that make me think and create out of my usual norm. I need a bit to get me going, like a theme or shape, but then I'm running/stitching down the track!
ReplyDeleteI have just finished my Modern Quilt Guild Riley Blake challenge. I like challenges as they push me out of my comfort zone. Thanks for sharing the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I, too, like challenges because they get me out of my comfort zone. But I like lots of guidelines. I often don't participate because I struggle coming up with an idea.
ReplyDeleteI have not done a challenge but I think it would be fun! Yours is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI am having fun with challenges this year!! I am game for almost any kind. Sometimes I get an idea right away, other times it takes a bit of pondering before I get a real idea.
ReplyDeleteI am challenging myself to finish up some UFOs this year and to get at least one quilted each month. Falling behind already!
ReplyDeleteI like challenges as long as I have enough time to think about it. I don't do the monthly ones. I can't think that fast.
ReplyDeleteI am just starting to quilt again after many years and am so intrigued by these quilts. Challenges keep me accountable. How fun!
ReplyDeleteI haven't entered a challenge, yet. I've just gotten back to quilting after a long break, and having a great time learning about modern quilting.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Paige! It does not surprise me that your quilt would be in Curated Quilts, it's a wonderful publication which I already am a subscriber. I'm waiting for you to be featured in it so more of your wonderfully beautiful quilts can be shown together--this is definitely more of a possibility although I still like my idea of your quilts on notecards (especially the Writing quilt).
ReplyDeleteI'm a subscriber too, and I agree with Rose that it's no surprise your quilt got in. It's a beautiful publication. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being in Curated Quilts, Paige! That is awesome! I participated in my first guild challenge two years ago. This year we have a great theme and I will be participating in it as well! Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy!
ReplyDeleteI am usually intimidated by challenges and don't know what to do. The few I have participated in, I had a clear vision of what to do so I tried them. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.
ReplyDeleteChallenges are great fun and bring out the creativity.
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to challenges. I usually add a personal challenge to every one I complete, such as trying a new technique.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome Paige! I love seeing your challenge quilts, you are always so imaginative.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Off the Grid is fabulous! No wonder they picked it! Thanks for this fun giveaway, Paige. I haven't seen Curated Quilts Mag before. Love your blog, Quilted Blooms. And I love challenges. They spark creativity and inventiveness in me, and I find myself trying new things outside my normal box.
ReplyDeleteI find it difficult to resist a challenge, but for something like QuiltCon, et al, I don’t have a lot of confidence. Your block is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI do love a good challenge. Tu-Na Helper challenges me to use up my stash all the time. I don't like deadlines as they seem so far away and then, poof, appear tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteChallenges are always very interesting. So much creativity - it's amazing how many different designs and color palettes can be seen within the same challenge.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have a greater addiction to challenges than I do. Have you ever not had a quilt accepted into a challenge where it was “juried” in? If you’ve had that experience, as I have had several times, it makes challenges seem discouragingly impossible, and makes me not want to bother with it. I also don’t do well with deadlines. You seem to thrive on them! But I do love this “Off the Grid” quilt. Your design skills are spot on, as always! It’s also great that you met Amy. I hope to have that chance at QuilCon 2019.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done any quilt challenges but hope to when more of my kids are in school.
ReplyDeleteMost of my challenges have been through our local guild but I have done a couple with Persimmon Dreams.
ReplyDeleteI have not participated in a challenge yet. I do not feel confident in my quilting skills to participate in a challenge yet (hopefully someday). I am not a very creative person but I sure like to follow a pattern (with my own spin on the pattern).
ReplyDeleteI just helped set up a challenge for my Modern Guild. We settled on a specific fabric and maximum size. I think I would enjoy a more detailed challenge though and I am thinking of doing some of the Curated Quilts challenges just for fun and experience. I'm Canadian but I do have American relatives so I could get the magazine eventually through them so I entered your draw. I'd really like to see a copy because I think a subscription plus shipping to Canada would be very expensive. I've been tempted but haven't taken the plunge yet. Your log cabin quilt is awesome by the way.
ReplyDeleteThis is a challenge in itself, to choose a US blog friend for my entry. Colour is my choice, and having a timeline to meet spurs me on.
ReplyDeleteLife would be boring without challenges. Challenges have brought me to new heights in all areas of life.
ReplyDeletelove seeing your creativity, one of these days i will remember to enter a challenge.
ReplyDeleteYour mini quilts are always so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI have not tried a challenge before. It is enough of a challenge to finish a quilt before I am off on another direction!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! The mini looks great in the magazine!
ReplyDeleteHave not done much modern quilting yet, but am planning on doing a "Plus Sign" pattern.
