Sunday Stash

I was lucky enough to recently win a giveaway from Kelly at My Quilt Infatuation when she was participating in the Benartex Summer Mini Quilt Blog Hop.  I won a fat quarter bundle of Patio Splash by Kanvas Studios for Benartex.  I just love the saturated colors.

You can find a link to Kelly's free quilt pattern, Sliding Geese Mini in her blog post here.

By now, I'm sure you heard about the Rin Along going on hosted by Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs and Cindy of Hyacinth Quilt Designs.  It's a quilt along using Carolyn Friedlander's quilt pattern, Rin which can be found here.

I resisted for a long time, but decided to purchase the pattern and check it out.  I have a long term hand applique project started already, so I thought I might give it a try using a zigzag satin stitch by machine.  After all, I love machine applique.

Quilted Blooms

I found the Tree Stripe in Iron from her Friedlander fabric collection at a local quilt shop and thought it would be a great background.

There are some awesome prizes up for grabs and we only have to make one block to be in the drawing.  I'm hoping I'll win this Auriful 80 wt 10 piece thread collection by Carolyn Friedlander.

And for fear of running out of black and white, I ordered 2 yards of Squared by Rashida Coleman Hale for Cotton & Steel from I Love Fabric (and it was on sale).  I had used most of what I had in the Sew Easy Schlep Bag I made last month.

I'll be linking to Main Crush Monday with Beth at Cooking up Quilts.

  4. Good for you to win these! They look beautiful! Would you believe, I've never seen those? Nor have I seen "Rin." Looks like an interesting design. I love hand appliqué, but to "get-er-done" I'd be doing machine appliqué too!

  7. Let me know how it goes , I'd love to do it but my circular sewing isn't for public consumption and my appliqué can be dodgy . Great fabric win Paige !

  8. Congrats on the FQ bundle win! Those fabrics are yummy :P I've been enjoying the Rin Along. I wasn't brave enough to give the circle applique a go, but I love seeing what everyone is making.
