If you haven't, close to 70 bloggers will each introduce an original 12" x 12" quilt block over the three day period, all made from Harvest Berry, a bundle of Cirrus Solids curated by the blog hop hosts, Yvonne at Quilting Jetgirl, Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs and Stephanie at Late Night Quilter.
And speaking of berries...here are some recent berry pictures. This Beautyberry bush inspired the name for my block.

Just this week I made 2 batches of mixed muscadine jelly.

And finally some blueberries.

I hope all these berries have you anticipating new blocks made from the Harvest Berry bundle. My stop on the hop is Wednesday, September 14th. See you then!
I have never seen or heard of a beautyberry before...What do they taste like?...where could I find one? I'm very excited about this blog hop, but based on the snippets I've seen, I may be a bit out of my league, both in block design and tutorial writing skills. No matter, it was fun and for a great cause. Thanks everyone, especially Cloud Nine.
ReplyDeleteApparently, the Beautyberry has insect repelling properties and jelly can be made from the berries, although I've never tried it. Here's a link to The Nation Gardening Association with details about the American Beautyberry.
DeleteThose berries are so pretty - they almost look fake with that amazing sheen they have. Look forward to the block hop. Love seeing what each person comes up with.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see all the new blocks! It's always such a fun time!
ReplyDeleteI am very excited to see what everyone has created next week!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of muscadines or American Beautyberries before, but we do have blueberries here in our neck of the woods. I'm looking forward to seeing your block next week!
