First completed block for the Midnight Mystery Quilt |
This is where I stand on piecing the block units:
- Flying Geese - complete, check!
- Square in a Square - pieced, pressed and just need to trim them up
- Courthouse Steps - need to sew on the last outside logs and cut into quadrants
Here are a few progress pictures. And notice the straight pins coordinate with my fabrics but please disregard the loose threads everywhere.

If you are working on the Midnight Mystery Quilt, I would love to hear about your progress. And if you are not, have you ever participated in a mystery quilt a-long before?
I am happy to link up for the time to Let's Bee Social with Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts, WIP Wednesday with Lee at Freshly Pieced, and Needle and Thread Thursday with Kelly at My Quilt Infatuation.
Hasn't this mystery QAL been great! I am loving the final result!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty block!
ReplyDeleteYou chose such nice fabrics for your mystery quilt, Paige. Those are some lovely stacks of pieced units. This is going to be one very pretty quilt!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely block and fabric choice. I have never done a mystery quilt along before but having seen all the gorgeous results on IG I feel quite tempted!
ReplyDeleteLovely block!
ReplyDeleteThese mystery quilts are a mystery to me! Your block looks great!
ReplyDeleteYour fabric choices are so perfect! I have had fun watching these mystery quilts come together even though I wasn't able to participate. I have done one mystery quilt before and I loved the process. I'm now planning my own mystery quilt to host on my blog. I'm hoping it will be just as much fun on the planning/ hosting end as it is on the participating end!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I can't wait to see everyone's finished quilts!
ReplyDeleteYour block, and block components look great (and so nicely pressed! :-) I've never done a mystery quilt along (or - any quilt along, for that matter) but I am actually considering joining one that starts next month. No 24" blocks in that one though ;-)
ReplyDeletehappy quilting ~ Tracy
Oh, I really like the black as your final border in the block. It really helps the stars to pop (shine?). :)
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful fabric choices. I'm behind as well so we can work on it together.
ReplyDeleteYour fabric choices are a great lesson in pattern and contrast. And I can't ignore the loose threads--they make me feel right at home. My husband is always calling attention to the threads stuck to me, but I wear them with pride. I haven't done a mystery quilt, but I love to see what others made.
ReplyDeleteYour color choices worked out beautifully, it's a gorgeous block. I've started that mystery. All my "pieces" are done, I just need to assemble the blocks, which I didn't get to because I also did Bonnie Hunter's Allietare mystery this year.
ReplyDeleteLove your fabric choices! I'm working on mine too. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Very pretty! I love doing mystery quilts! I usually lead them though - so its really fun to have a chance to play along ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love your fabric choices! Your quilt is going to be awesome! I signed up for Cheryl's QAL but haven't been able to find the time to even start piecing anything yet. :-(
